NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW Thursday drop for the week of 15–17 September 2026 puts a free-to-play day-one launch and a Bond path-tracing upgrade on the same slate. Pawprint Studio’s creature-catching RPG Aniimo arrives on the cloud at Steam release, and IO Interactive’s 007 First Light gets path tracing with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. NVIDIA lists 11 titles joining or updating on GeForce NOW this week.
Aniimo is free-to-play: catch creatures with Aniipods, then Twine to take their form for puzzles and battles across the continent of Idyll, with a personal RV Homeland to return to. The local build is about 45 GB; NVIDIA’s pitch is streaming on Steam Deck, the newly supported Firefox client, and other supported devices so players skip the download and disk hit. That is the real news for a mid-size F2P launch — not the creature fantasy itself.
007 First Light’s path-tracing pass adds denser lighting, shadows, and reflections, with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction aimed at keeping those effects readable. Ultimate members can target up to 5K HDR with RTX 5080-class cloud performance, plus DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Frame Generation. Separately, NVIDIA says the Deluxe Edition is on sale on Steam 15–29 September and on Epic Games Store 3–18 September — store windows, not GeForce NOW pricing.
Two other names get more than a list line. Gaijin’s Active Matter (Steam and Gaijin, 15 September) is a multiverse military shooter with time-loop extraction raids. Annapurna’s Outer Wilds joins the library as a full catalog add of the time-loop space mystery. The rest of the week’s slate is mostly store-date onboarding: RuneScape: Dragonwilds (Xbox / Game Pass), Train Sim World 7, The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410, plus The Blood of Dawnwalker, Mixtape, Neon White, Stray, and What Remains of Edith Finch. NVIDIA notes GeForce NOW availability can lag store release as titles are onboarded through the week.
Confirmed
- Aniimo (Steam, 15 September) — free-to-play open-world creature RPG; ~45 GB local footprint; streams on Steam Deck, Firefox, and other supported GeForce NOW clients.
- 007 First Light — path-tracing update with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction; Ultimate tier marketed up to 5K HDR / RTX 5080-class cloud performance.
- Deluxe Edition sale windows (NVIDIA blog): Steam 15–29 September; Epic Games Store 3–18 September.
- Active Matter and Outer Wilds highlighted alongside the broader 11-title week; remaining titles are library/onboarding adds with store dates as listed by NVIDIA.
- GeForce NOW onboarding may trail store release dates — availability can roll through the week.
Unknown
- Exact GeForce NOW go-live time per title after each store release.
- Independent frame-time or image-quality numbers for 007 First Light path tracing at 5K HDR on Ultimate — NVIDIA states the tier targets, not measured results.
- Whether day-one cloud capacity for a free-to-play launch like Aniimo holds under peak concurrent demand.
Our take
This is a classic GFN Thursday: one “skip the download” story and one “RTX showcase” story sharing a catalog dump. Aniimo matters because 45 GB of F2P friction is exactly what cloud is supposed to erase; 007 First Light matters only if path tracing still looks good after DLSS reconstruction on a living room stream — which NVIDIA asserts and nobody independent has logged here. The Deluxe sale lines are store merchandising bolted onto a cloud post; treat them as affiliate-adjacent calendar facts, not proof that GeForce NOW is where Bond players will buy.
