Google Shuts Down Imagen 4 on the Gemini API Today — With a Vertex AI Date Split
The Gemini API deprecations page lists August 17, 2026 as the shutdown date for all three Imagen 4 GA model IDs. Vertex AI documentation still shows June 30 for the same IDs — and migration to Gemini 3.1 Flash Image is not a drop-in swap.
