OpenAI has replaced chief revenue officer Denise Dresser after nine months, appointing Wiz president and chief operating officer Dali Rajic to lead the company's sales organization. Greg Brockman, OpenAI co-founder and president, announced the change in a blog post today, noting that Rajic will turn what the company has learned into repeatable execution as it builds out the full system to make AI broadly useful.

The move is part of a broader executive shake-up over the past month. Chief operating officer Brad Lightcap and Fidji Simo, CEO of AGI deployment, have both departed. Brockman has taken a larger management role following Simo's exit. Wiz, Rajic's previous employer, was acquired by Google for $32 billion earlier this year in the tech giant's largest-ever acquisition.

Why it matters

OpenAI says its products reach more than one billion weekly active users and two million businesses. Despite that scale, executives have acknowledged privately and publicly that the company has not hit all of its revenue goals. The leadership turnover comes as OpenAI has filed confidentially with the SEC ahead of a potential IPO, though the timing remains unclear. A $7 billion employee tender offer this week may signal a delay in the public offering, as private firms often round out executive ranks before a market debut.

Earlier this year, CEO Sam Altman emphasized a focus on enterprise deployment and cut back on technology projects seen as distracting from that goal. A blog post referenced by had mentioned a need for "relentless focus" on "measurable business impact," though those comments appear to have been removed from the published version.
