OpenAI and CodeAI announced a partnership today to bring AI literacy tools and a dedicated teen experience to millions of students and educators. The collaboration launches alongside ChatGPT for Teens, a version of the chatbot built with learning guardrails, parental controls, and features designed to promote critical thinking rather than passive use.

The partnership addresses a gap highlighted by CodeAI survey data: 84% of students already use AI, yet only 16% of high school leaders say all their students are learning about it in the classroom. Three-quarters of high schoolers believe AI fluency will be more important for their futures than it is now.

Its AI Foundations course has already enrolled more than 75,000 students.
